Bill Turner –Biography

My first musical influence was listening to my father playing popular songs on the piano. This inspired me to learn to play the piano too and developed my appreciation of how someone interprets a song.

The biggest buzz for me is to bring an idea to life. When I write the words somehow the feeling and tone for the subject appears. Everyones’ life is a journey and music can be part of their life.

I was offered the chance to write songs for secondary school productions, which allowed me to write blues and ballads for the students to perform. Working with the students was a very rewarding experience. This led me to join “The Invicta Jazz Orchestra” where I played for many years.
